Junior Auxiliary of Columbus is a nonprofit organization committed to providing for the children within Lowndes County. Our members have been serving the Columbus area for over 75 years and although needs may have changed, the legacy and desire to support and encourage our community's children remains the same.

We are enthusiastic about the various projects we present to meet the diverse needs within our community. J.A.M, our mentoring/tutoring program, assigns members to elementary age students to aid with improvement of academic skills and offer emotional support in a one-to-one environment on school premises. We also offer several projects such as Choose Kindness, Fit and Fabulous Forever, In My Shoes, Read to Succeed, Reality Fair, and Stand Up Speak Out that enlighten and educate a wide age range.

These projects are designed to expose large groups of children to subject matters they might not otherwise have an opportunity to experience. Our longest running project, established in the 1940s, is our Clothing project . By providing school clothes for children in grades elementary through high school we seek to promote a more positive self-image which is the first step in helping our children feel important, prepared, and ready to learn.

We are able to serve through generous sponsorships, patron donations and advertisements as spotlighted in our Report to the Community program and annual Charity Ball. It is by our wonderful community's support we achieve our National motto "Care today - Character tomorrow".  To our sponsors and generous donors, please accept our heartfelt thanks from the members of Junior Auxiliary and the children we serve for your continued support.
